Labels

Don't forget your labels. Its nice to know what is in each jar. This is especially helpful to those with allergies. It also helps with tying your jars together and the overall look of the buffet.

My favorite thing to do is to search for the right pattern and create them in a Word document. Once I do that I add the font and colors I need and duplicate as many on a page that I can. I print a few test labels in black and white to make sure the size is what I need and then I get them ready to print. You can print them on heavy weight card stock at home, but I find it best to e-mail them to my local print shop. I use Office Depot and have them print it on their heaviest weight semi-gloss card stock. It normally runs me just a few dollars. They are a higher grade and way better print quality.
Next I take my time cutting them out so they will look very nice. If you're not great with scissors you may want to stick to basic shapes and stay away from fancy scrolls, etc.
